Rue- May/June Issue 5

Rue released the May/ June issue of their online magazine yesterday, I couldn’t wait to see what was inside!

Rue- Issue 5

As soon as the notification popped up on my computer I couldn’t help but get straight into it, and had a quick flick through, read a couple of the articles, but will have to go back and read it all more thoroughly when I have some spare time without distractions…

The one article that really stood out for me was the feature on Jessica Marx, on page 148-157. I just love her way of styling. We got to see inside her apartment, which she describes as Bohemian Eclectic. Mixing new with old, Jessica proves that you don’t need to spend a fortune to have a glamorous interior, picking up pieces from flea markets, and a Chesterfield sofa handed down from her parents.

Jessica’s one bit of advice-
‘…spend more money on key pieces that will make the most impact in the room and less on the pieces that play more of a supporting role.’

I just love this console, and can you believe Jessica found the coffee table at a flea market! Think I need to get out to the markets some more, you never know what you’ll find!

Jessica started her own blog (Life’s Little Jems) in 2010, and shortly after founded her own interior design firm – J. Marx Atelier. It seems Jessica has a long and successful career of her, with a real talent for creating beautiful and engaging spaces. Be sure to check out her blog for yourself, the lucky thing is on holidays at the moment, posting fashion, interior and lifestyle inspiration from each of her destinations – Paris, Lake Como, Venice, Florence, Rome… Makes me dream of getting back there some time! Soon!

Think I might head off to the Murobond Makers Markets now…

Have a wonderful day!
